Update

I am still here but very busy knitting, reading and doing other things such as meeting up with friends.

My current knitting projects and I say knitting projects as there are more than one are a Sudoku Blanket, a baby blanket, a poncho and hat and scarf set. That is enough to keep me going for a few weeks.

Anyway, let me get back to my knitting.

Sudoku Blanket

These are the first four squares of the sudoku blanket I am making. I am using yarn leftover in my stash. I cannot wait to see the end result. I have no idea how big it is going to be.

Poncho

Started this poncho today using Aran with wool in chocolate brown. It is so easy to knit as well.

Update

Hi

It has been awhile since I logged on to my blogger. Life me is very busy at the moment. So many things to do and not enough time to do it all. I am still managing to fit in some knitting but it is like an hour at a time.

I am currently knitting a lacy baby blanket, gingerbread men - I want to knit 30 to give to the children in the class I work in at the end of the Summer Term. I also need to knit a hat for my mother and a few knitted items of clothing for other people. That is a lot. So I will stop here and see if I can fit in a couple of hours before I start cooking.

Happy Knitting.

Gingerbread Man

Photobucket

This little man did not take too long to knit. I knitted him in just over two hours. I used Sirdar DK yarn which was in my stash. It was a good way of using up the yarn. I do intend to make some more.

This gingerbrread man also has a pocket at the back that you can put your fingers in and he can run.

Friday Inspiration

What is your favourite style of hat?

My favourite style hat is the Baker Boy style hats.

Do you have a favourite yarn for making hats with?

I usually use Sirdar DK yarn but would like to branch out and get more vibrant and interesting colours.

What hat patterns are in your queue at the moment?

The Captain Hat is the one I am keen to do as the others were for friends. I do like it in the red. I love red but not a brilliant red.

Do you have a favourite handmade hat that you (or someone else) has made?

What has been your favourite finished blanket/lapghan?

Baby blanket

Do you have a favourite pattern that you'd like to make in the future?

I started the Great American Afghan about 18mths ago and only managed to do three squares. I would like to finish that in the next year if I can. Also I wanted to make a patchwork blanket for the children at school but now the Knitting Club will be taking that project on. I think if I am honest I owuld like to knit a Sudoku blanket as I love Sudoku or there is a blanket I would like to knit in the book 100 Afghan suares to knit. I have misplaced the book otherwise I would state which one I am referring to.

Do you have a favourite type of yarn for making blankets/lapghans?

Again I usually use Sirdar yarns for blankets but I am considering Rowan for the Afghan in the book.

What is your favourite way of keeping your feet warm?

Socks and slippers (sometimes with a hot water bottle depending on how cold my feet are.

Do you have a favourite pair of socks you reach for to keep your toes toasty?

I love my totes which are purple with different coloured spots on them. They are not knitted ones though.

Is there a pair of socks/slippers you have been wanting to make for ages but haven't got around to?

I have knitted slippers before but whrn I have made them for myself someone always wants them.

What is your favourite yarn for gloves/mittens/handwarmers?

Are there any patterns out there you would love to own?

I would love a set. I did a lilac set for my sister and she loved it. I must sy it looked lovely even if I say so myself. Well, I did knit it. I would have a set in Claret red or a deep lovely purple.
